FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
-
a) How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 45 to 60 minutes. This slight variability allows us time needed to account for asking questions, strategizing on habits, and sometimes having a day where you move a little slower than usual.
b) What kind of exercises are typically included?
Exercises heavily emphasize four simple movement patterns - push, pull, squat, hinge. These can be progressed, regressed, or replaced with corrective exercises if you are having problems performing one of these movement patterns effectively.
-
a) How do you assess my fitness level and goals to create my program?
Your program is developed based off a movement and mobility assessment we perform on day one. This will determine your starting point in our strength program.
b) Are there any pre-training assessments or health checks?
During the fitness assessment, full disclosure of medical history relevant to exercise is required for safety purposes. This will help us determine what, if any, training considerations need to be made.
-
a) How much space do I need in my home for effective training?
We have effectively trained clients in spaces as small as 5'x5', so don't be too concerned that your space might be too small! As long as you have some space to store dumbbells and a foldable bench, you will be good to go.
b) What equipment is provided, and what do I need to have?
A pair of adjustable dumbbells, a stand for the dumbbells to be stored on, and a foldable weight bench. This takes up roughly a 3'x3' footprint. All you need to have is the space! If you have equipment, great! We can use it all.
-
a) How do I schedule sessions, and how far in advance?
During the fitness assessment, you and your future coach will go over your availability. Due to the fact that we must drive from client to client, there are geographic considerations that must be taken into account. The clients that are most successful in sticking to a training schedule are those that can have consistent availability at a specific time week to week. If your availability changes week-to-week, you may not be successful in our in-person training programs.
b) What is your policy on rescheduling or cancelling a session?
Cancellations and rescheduling must be done 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for a session.
-
a) How do you ensure safety during workouts, especially for beginners or those with previous injuries?
The medical history given during the fitness assessment will help us come ready on day one to modify the workout and the exercise environment to ensure your safety throughout your training program.
b) Are there any safety protocols specific to in-home training?
This will vary based on your household rules, your space, and your personal comfort level.
-
a) What tools or methods are used to monitor my progress?
The Trainerize app will allow you and your trainer to track your weight, exercise progress, and nutrition. Every workout is carefully tracked through Trainerize, so there is no guesswork going in to a session.
Additionally, our Styku body scanner will give you the valuable body metrics needed to determine you measurements, body composition, and weight.
b) How often do you evaluate and update my training program?
Training programs are constantly being evaluated and updated on a case-by-case basis. If you are progression and don't have any aches and pains outside what is normal for strenuous exercise, your program will keep going! If you are plateauing or an exercise is causing you complications outside of the session, an exercise may be swapped out. It's all about you and how you respond to the exercises in the program.
-
a) Is there nutritional guidance or lifestyle coaching available?
Yes! These are built into the service. Nutritional guidance comes primarily in the form of calorie and macro tracking. Our clients have been most successful when they are given basic parameters to follow, rather than rigid diet plans that many do not stick to for long.
Lifestyle coaching is ongoing and informal. Through discussions with your coach, you will come to learn how your habits and environment can impact your progress, which will help you make necessary changes to your life and environment outside of the sessions to be successful.
b) Do you offer any support or guidance through digital platforms?
You and your coach will set up a sustainable communication plan day 1 of training so that you can easily reach each other when the time calls for it. Trainerize provides a messaging platform, a calendar, and various tracking tools that will help you start taking needed steps towards independent healthy living.
-
a) What kind of results have other clients seen?
All of our clients are successful, some just more than others. Your coach will work hard to help you build not just an effective exercise plan, but to build better nutrition habits and lifestyle choices. You will get out what you put in! The quicker you build and stick to a plan, the quicker your results.
b) How long does it typically take to see noticeable changes?
On average, a client sees noticeable change in 2 to 6 weeks. This could come in the form of weight loss, a marked improvement in their day-to-day performance in everyday tasks, or just a general increased feeling of wellbeing.

a) Why should I choose at-home training over a traditional gym?
At-home personal training is not for everyone. If you are currently seeing results and success going to a gym or working with a trainer at a facility - keep that train rolling! We are proud of you!
If, however, you are intimidated by a gym or lack the discipline to show up consistently, have a hectic - but consistent - schedule that makes a commute to the gym difficult, already have a home gym that you want to start using more consistently or get more results from, or simply prefer working out from home, then we are for you!
There are also some objective advantages that home workouts have over the gym. You never have to wait for equipment. Your trainer will be able to truly give you a one-on-one experience. You always get to choose the playlist (or have no music on at all). And your pets can hang out!
